Front label of Educated Guess 2018 Rose of Pinot Noir from Costco

A Perfectly Good Rosé from Napa and Costco – $3.33 per Bottle!

Fast Facts on this “Fast Friday” Featured Wine:

  • 2018 Educated Guess Rosé of Pinot Noir, Napa Valley, California  ($3.33* @Costco in California – Item #1456531) *requires case purchase

Remember our Fast Friday posts?  They are all about brevity, and we only publish when we have something so good that we don’t think it should wait until next Thursday. Well, this is one of those wines!

As noted above, this wine will set you back $3.33.  And the only way to get that price is to purchase an entire case. I was conflicted at first, because who wants 11 more bottles of a wine that may not ring their chimes? But I weighed what I knew: current vintage – good.  Rosé of Pinot Noir, also good. Napa – check. What’s more we have reviewed a wine from Educated Guess before.  So the risk didn’t seem so great, after all.  I lowered a case into my Costco cart…

Stack ’em high and watch ’em fly!

I was glad I did!

Tasting Notes:

This is a dry, light and easy going wine, made entirely from Pinot Noir. The palate is crisp and refreshing and displays flavors of tart cherry, raspberry and rhubarb. It is only 12% ABV, so if one glass leaves you desiring one or two more, you’re good!

Since our Fast Friday posts are all about brevity, I will leave you with two more reasons to hope that this wine is for sale at your local Costco: Wine Enthusiast gave it 87 points, and it is being sold online for around $15 a bottle.

Cheers!
