This is a really good one!

Don’t let the 2015 vintage scare you.

I almost passed on this wine given the fact that it seemed a bit old given its 2015 vintage.  But I figured it was worth risking $10 on, given the fact that Chardonnay is one of those white wine grapes that actually can stand up to some aging, improving even. Plus, the grapes come from the Santa Maria Valley, world famous for Chardonnay.  This was before I discovered the winery is selling this wine for $37 on their website, and wine.com is selling it for $45!

I don’t know how widely distributed this wine is in the Costco network, but I do know that it is in several stores here in SoCal.

Tasting Notes:

Fruit notes of young apple and lemon curd pair with subtleties of white citrus flower, baked shortbread and cream fraiche. Classis Chardonnay flavors of lemon zest, pear, blanched almonds and lightly toasted oak rounds out the flavor profile. The generous mouthfeel develops nicely across the palate with richness that both, rounds out the finish and complements the wines balanced acidity.

I really, really liked this wine.  I loved its $9.99 price.

Happy hunting and happy weekend.

Cheers!
